I've been listening to the teachings while logged into the online learning center instead of downloading them to my computer. It occurred to me that I might be using a lot of bandwidth by doing it that way. If so, then I'll start downloading the teaching files to my computer, but I would rather not do that. So, does listening to the teaching files use a lot of bandwidth, enough that it would be better for OLC for me to download the files?

I am not certain if you are referring to listening to the MP3 teaching files which we have in most of the OLC courses or to video teaching files which are available in selected courses. But in either case, if you have bandwidth limits, then I would recommend that you download the teaching files to listen to/ watch offline especially if you think you may use the files more than once. The bandwidth is essentially the same to steam videos for watching online or to download to your computer but if you have the files locally then any future viewing won't use any additional bandwidth.

The bandwidth would essentially be exactly the same. Steaming a video is downloaded to the end users's PC, it's just not captured or saved. The only time that streaming uses less is when you have a dynamic, variable quality stream, such as with Netflix, where it detects the end-user's bandwidth connection and lowers quality depending on their connection, thus using less bandwidth. But for our purposes, they should be pretty identical.

One of these days, I will learn to speak English properly. As English is my native language and I am more than several decades old, don't hold your breath on that happening anytime in the near future. :)

I was wondering about the OLC's bandwidth limit. I listen to the audiotapes two or three times, so I'm using two or three times your bandwidth than I would if I just downloaded the audiofiles. This is either an infinitesimal blip in your bandwidth usage or a large spike.

Seeing as how you didn't see this as a possible problem on your end, I'm thinking it's an infinitesimal blip in your bandwidth and therefore not a problem. :)
