For the past two or three days, I have been getting the message "The following plug-in has crashed:Shockwave Flash"

I use Google Chrome.

For the past two or three days, I have been getting the message "The following plug-in has crashed:Shockwave Flash"

I use Google Chrome.

I didn't get this message for DB Modules 1 or 2, BIN, or How to Meditate. This started with Module 3.

What is odd is that I can still listen to the audiotapes even though I get this error message.

Any thoughts about what is happening here?

I have had the same problem. Eventually I discovered that Explorer (which I don't use, but keep for emergencies) had an old version of shockwave flash.

I have had the same problem. Eventually I discovered that Explorer (which I don't use, but keep for emergencies) had an old version of shockwave flash.

Try updating Explorer. When I did that no more problems.

I hope this helps. I'm not a computer whiz!

What's interesting is that when I log out of the learning center, the message goes away. LOL I don't think that is a good solution to the problem.

It's really more annoying than anything else as I can still hear the audio tapes with no problem. I guess an opportunity to practice patience. :)

When my patience runs out, I'll give your suggestion a try.

Thanks for posting this issue. It would be great if you could provide me with some additional information in order to help troubleshoot this problem further.

In general Flash is not required on the Online Learning Center except to play some of the videos such as the Discovering Buddhism video segment in each module or the Living in the Path video extracts. Flash should not be required for playing the MP3 audio files which can be downloaded or played online using your default media player.

So can you let me know if you experienced the problem when playing video or when playing MP3 files and on which pages it specifically occurred.

The latest version of Adobe Flash can be downloaded from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ which is required to play the videos.

I also just done some initial research on the internet for this problem and found that this might be a problem with google Chrome and Flash as outlined at http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=2d1205b6d1c2c8e1&hl=en and there were 16000 other hits for the search phrase 'The following plugin has crashed:Shockwave Flash' so obviously you are not the only one having this sort of problem.

Thank you for your help. I was going to just ignore it, but then I had it crash while I was logged into Blogger, so I decided to fix it.

Google Chrome has an integrated version of Adobe Flash. I had updated it a few days ago, so I had two versions of Flash enabled, and they didn't like it when I was logged in either here or on Blogger. Doh! :)

I found this on Adobe's website to be the most useful information on solving the problem. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/839/cpsid_83950.html Basically disable one of the versions and your problems will be solved.

And the moral of the story is: If you're using Google Chrome, don't manually update Adobe Flash.
