Hi Yanmin
I think it might be better to post future questions like this in one of the course forums that you are studying such as the Discovering Buddhism forum as this technical forum is not reviewed by forum elders and is main reviewed for technical issues.
In terms placing a statue in your home, their is some advice on altar setup which can be seen in a booklet at http://shop.fpmt.org/The-Preliminary-Practice-of-Altar-Set-up-Water-Bowl-Offerings-PDF_p_1776.html or you can see some advice at //fpmt.org/mandala/archives/mandala-issues-for-2008/june/the-perfect-altar/ or http://www.buddhistthought.org/study-centre/daily-meditation/setting-up-a-shrine
The main thing is that you have a good motivation for placing the statue and you can use the state as a way to remember refuge or to make offerings to for generating merit. AS you progress through your studies of Discovering Buddhism you will learn more about the different topics of refuge and offerings and gradually develop your own understanding.
