Thank you for posting your question here in the technical support forum. I just tested opening the PDF files from the Tathagatha Essence course on a PC and also an iphone and both opened without any problem. I am sorry that i could not test with an android tablet yet, but do not know of any reason why the files should not open.
So can you please restart your android and try and again and let me know if you continue to have issues and if so, whether any error messages appear.
I will also email you the root text and another PDF from the course via email so that you can have those files to work with while we try and resolve the issues

Thank you for additional information on this. I tested this today on an android phone device and on that device the PDF was downloaded for me (rather than opened). I then had to open a file manager app and view the file using a PDF viewer and it open successfully. From researching this it seems that the file can open differently depending on what reader you have configured for PDFs and if you are using the Chrome browser that it usually downloads files instead of opening them.
So do you know if you the file was downloaded and whether you can open it from a file browser? Or do other PDF files open direct from websites? And were you able to open the file i sen you direct by email or from the other file storage site.
