Since upgrading the Online Learning Center, we have been experiencing intermittent problems with the forum emails not being sent to all subscribers. We are aware of this problem, and diligently working on finding a solution.

In the meantime, if you wish to monitor the forum posts and responses please log into the site and check the forums. We apologize for the inconvenience, and again thank you for your ongoing support and enthusiasm for the FPMT Online Learning Center.

Dear Brad,

I appreciate your post...because last fall & winter, when I was on Mod 1 and Mod 2, as a subscriber to the Forum, anyone's responses to my posts would come automatically into my email, as a link perhaps, but anyway a direct connection of all responses into my email.  This was very helpful.

We have just begun mod 3 and I did a post yesterday and one this morning, and none of the replies came to my email.

The people that I am studying with in module 3, would also like to be receiving the emails.

Thanks for all that you do,

Susan in Philadelphia

Dear Susan

Thanks for this post. I have reviewed your account in DB Module 3 and I can confirm that you are subscribed to the 'Student discussion' forum but you are not subscribed to the 'Ask an Elder' forum.

In order to review your forum subscriptions in any module you will need to go to the forum overview screen by clicking on the 'Forum' option under the Activities box on the right jhand side of your screen.

Activities

When you click on this you will then see an overview of your forum subscriptions and also your forum tracking options if you have turned this on in your user profile.

Forums

So I would recommend that you subscribe to both these forums and then to review your user profile so that you select how best to manage your email subscriptions for all forums that you are subscribed to. I have attached some instructions on how to do this below and I would recommend that you enable Forum tracking and that you select to have a single email per forum post.

Let me know if you need any further assistance with this.

Instructions for updating your User Profile for Forum Options

If you click on your username you can edit some parts of your user profile which will affect how to use the discussion forums.

Click on the option to 'Edit User Profile' and click on 'Show Advanced'

The following options can be changed to get the best use out of the Forums:

Email format (advanced)
There are two formats: "Pretty HTML format" (messages will be formatted) and "Plain text format" (plain text with no formatting).

Email digest type (advanced)
This setting determines how you receive any posts from Forums to which you are subscribed, allowing you to receive messages individually or on a daily basis.

Forum auto-subscribe (advanced)
This setting lets you decide if you want email copies of posts that are added to forums. If you set this to subscribe, the system will automatically email you copies of new posts in forums that you post in, unless you manually override it when posting.

Forum tracking (advanced)
Enabling forum tracking means highlighting the posts you have not read yet, which should improve your forum navigation.
