Hi,

I'm having issue with the ability to download the PDF transcript for Module 3.  It opens a blank window but just sits there.  I've tried accessing it from several different pages, but keep having the same problem.

No issue with the MP3 download, however.

Is there a problem from the administrator side, or is this just me?

Thanks,

Arika

Hi Arika

I have emailed you the PDF transcript for Module 3 so that you have it offline.

I just tested opening this file from the site and was able to open in without any problem using Google Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer.

However please note that the transcript for Module 3 is 248 pages and is 1.5 MB in size so sometimes it might take some time to fully open particularly if you have a slow internet connection.

It is also possible to download the PDF's from the site without opening them. To do this from a PC open up the section which contains the link to the PDF transcript and instead of clicking on it to open it do the following to download it to your computer:
  • Right click on PDF Transcript and select 'Save Link as' using Firefox
  • Right click on PDF Transcript and select 'Save Target as' using Internet Explorer
  • Right click on PDF Transcript and select 'Save Link as' using Google Chrome
I do not know the commands to do this using a MAC but hopefully some other students who use a MAC and Safari or other browser can add to this discussion with these instructions.

Thanks

Eamon

Hi Eamon,

Thanks for taking the time to answer all our site-related questions. I have one, which I thought I'd tack on Arika's original question rather than start a new thread.

My preferred style of studying is to download the materials to my computer and read offline. For module 1 there is a required reading titled "Make Your Mind an Ocean". The PDF button/link on the top right hand corner of the page. However, clicking on that link produces a PDF of just that page. It is the same case with "Become Your Own Therapist".

Could you please direct me on how I can retrieve the document as a whole in PDF format?

Thanks,

Chacko

Hi Chacko

The link to the required readings for Module 1 are listed as follows:

Make your Mind an Ocean by Lama Yeshe (Available on LYWA website)
Becoming Your Own Therapist by Lama Yeshe (Available on LYWA website)

These links open up the webpages with these texts but there should be an option in the right hand menu under related links to open these as PDF's. I tested the following links below which opened a PDF of 144 pages of these two texts:

http://www.lamayeshe.com/content/Media/pdf/50_pdf.pdf

or

http://www.lamayeshe.com/content/Media/pdf/115_pdf.pdf

Please note that it is also possible to order a printed copy of this book for free on the LYWA website or if you are close to any FPMT center, they are often available for free in many centers.

Hope this helps

Eamon

Thanks a lot, Eamon, this absolutely helps. My eye was distracted by the PDF icon at the top right hand corner of the page, and I missed the PDF URL under related links.

I must check out see if there is an FPMT center close to where I live now.
