hello is there any course at fpmt to learn tibeten for use in prayer books and at retreats ect.  Im going though the light of the path and we took the precepts and I enjoyed doing part of it in tibeten, but not vary good with saying it right, but I feel I could learn it. thanks this is so nice to have this offer to study from the masters thank you. william

Merry here from FPMT Education Services. There is not a class per se, but we do have a few resources that can help you. Essential Buddhist Prayers, Vol 1 Tunes contains many of the common prayers sung in Tibetan by Ven Robina Courtin. You can find this on the Foundation Store: //fpmt.org/shop/product1.aspx?SID=1&Product_ID=414&Category_ID=25 also on the store you will see we have other practices on audio CD. I would recommend the Practice of Prostrations to the 35 Buddhas and Rituals and Realizations. Both of these will have many of the prayers you did at LOP so you can learn how to recite them in Tibetan. Merry

There is also a wonderful program online that offers reasonably priced resources and gives you access to an American Tibetan-speaking Lama ( http://tibetanlanguage.org ). He offers a program by conference call, at least twice a year, and you'd only need to take the first part if all you want to do is learn to sound out the Tibetan text.

Thank you so much I will buy this cd for sure, and I do the Prostrations to the 35 buddhas, and as lama Zopa Rinpoche  goes though the prayers I follow and use my Prayer ...

Thank you so much I will buy this cd for sure, and I do the Prostrations to the 35 buddhas, and as lama Zopa Rinpoche  goes though the prayers I follow and use my Prayer book Number two, but I will get the !st prayer book as I do not have that one.
