I think you have raised a very interesting question about one of the meditation techniques from Session 2 of Discovering Buddhism Module 2 and i would recommend that you post this question in the DB discussion forum at https://onlinelearning.fpmt.org/mod/forum/view.php?id=1343 for input from other students and experienced elders who may not see any questions posted in this particular forum.
